What’s Going On In Country Music!

This week in country music news; Tracy Lawrence hand-delivered donations to 12 organizations who help the homeless, Garth Brooks wants to open a police substation in downtown Nashville, Walker Hayes is releasing a song next week about his childhood dog, Miranda Lambert, Willie Nelson, and more will be part of a Billy Joe Shaver tribute Album!

  • Tracy Lawrence and his organization Mission: Possible made donations to 12 non-profit organizations that support the homeless in middle Tennessee.  He posted an emotional video of himself hand-delivering the checks.  He had raised more than $430,000 to donate through his celebrity golf tournament.
  • Garth Brooks wants to open a police substation in Downtown Nashville.  He said he’d pay for its development, so it wouldn’t cost taxpayers.  It would help with traffic control and safety and be located adjacent to the bar he’s opening.
  • Walker Hayes is coming out with new song on the 26th called “That Dog’ll Hunt”.  It’s about his childhood dog Skeeter.  He posted a throwback photo and said, quote, “The best dog I ever had.  We will be singing about him together.”
  • There’s going to be a Billy Joe Shaver tribute album coming out November 11th.  It’s called “Live Forever: A Tribute to Billy Joe Shaver”.  It’ll include covers by Miranda LambertWillie NelsonGeorge StraitMargo Price, and Steve Earle.
