What’s Going On In Country Music!

This week in country music news, Carrie Underwood talks about country stars she would let babysit, Jon Pardi says he had to get into shape for a Midland music video, Chris Young discusses issues with music over Zoom, and Kane Brown proudly boasts about how he’s grown up a lot throughout his career.

  • Carrie Underwood which country stars she would trust to watch her children. She said, “I was really lucky on our last tour to be out with just incredible ladies. We had Maddie & Tae, and we had Runaway June, and they loved on my kiddos so much. Isaiah would always be on somebody’s lap, you know eating, cause he knew. He knew what he was doing. He’s like pretty girls? I’m there.”
  • Jon Pardi tells WhiskeyRiff.com that he had to get into shape for a Midland music video. “Midland asked me to be in their “Longneck Way to Go” video. I knew if I had to stand next to Mark(Wystrach), people would see me as fat. That guy is built! I lost like 15 lbs. … just to get ready to film a video next to Mark.
  • Chris Young tells Billboard magazine that he hated writing music over Zoom. “Most of the stuff that I wrote over Zoom, even the stuff that was the best of that, I do feel like there was something missing, at least for me as a songwriter. So I don’t think there’s anything that ended up on my new record that was a Zoom write. It’s so hard to convey emotion and meaning when you’re talking to a computer.”
  • Chris Lane and his wife, Lauren, are expecting their second child. They posted a picture of their family along with the caption: “Party of 4, coming October 2022. I cannot wait to see you as a big brother, Dutty!”
  • Kane Brown tells ConnectSavannah.com that he’s grown up a lot in his career. “I think I’ve grown up a lot. When I wrote my debut album I wasn’t married yet, I wasn’t a father yet, and there was also much I had to say that I hadn’t gotten to say yet to people. I’ve grown and learned since then but I still feel like deep down I am still the same person. I still love connecting with my fans through my music.”
