Authorities rescued a woman who fell into the Minnesota River. It happened on Monday night.

Sibley County sheriff’s deputies and Le Sueur police officers responded to a report of a suicidal woman at River Park outside of Le Sueur just after 9 p.m.

The woman was found a mile west of the park near the river. While officers were trying to talk to her, the woman had an unknown medical emergency and fell into the river.

Officers and a bystander quickly pulled the woman to safety, according to a press release from the Sibley County Sheriff’s Office.

The woman was taken by ambulance to the Ridgeview Le Sueur Medical Center for evaluation.
