The South Central Crisis Center will hold an Open House on Tuesday, May 7 at their new location on 2100 Bassett Drive in Mankato. The event will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. with statements from local and state leaders at 2:30 p.m. Attendees will be able to tour the building and the event is free and open to the public.
The new residential facility features 16 single-bed rooms, an increase from the old location, which had 12 beds in a double-room setup. The new building will also help Horizon Homes to expand its mobile crisis team that consists of a mental health practitioner available 24-hours a day to respond face-to-face to mental health crises in the community. The team serves the counties of Blue Earth, Brown, Faribault, Freeborn, Le Sueur, Martin, Nicollet, Rice, Sibley, and Watonwan.
